I will never forget when I was a teenager and I went on a field trip to see Phantom of the Opera with my Choral class. 

It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. The art of it all ... the costumes, set, pictures, music, acting, all of it, was simply breathtaking. 

That was the moment that I knew art, in some shape or way, would be in my life. Because it moved me. It captivated me. It took me to a different world where everything seemed right. It's where I belonged.

So my life as an actor began in the nosebleed cheap seats of a massive coliseum over 25 years ago. 

Fast forward to the present day, and I am proud that I make my living through the art of voice over. 

This career moves me as the music did so many years ago. 

I want to ask you ... does voice over as an art form move you? 

The big question, right? But I thought, "What the heck, might as well ask." 

So ... what is Art?

Miriam Webster says: "Art is something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that expresses important ideas or feelings."

What a wonderful definition. You see, I believe we often get caught up in the everyday mess of running our businesses and trying to get clients, DAW's, equipment, finances, etc. and forget to take a moment and enjoy the art of it all. 

We get to create communications that move people to take action. Whether they are big or small actions, doesn't matter. It's the passion and spontaneity that lies underneath the intent that keeps us coming back for more and more.

Voice over is about sharing who you are with the world through messages and acting, important ideas and feelings, while helping people learn. 

It is such an amazing thing to say that we actually communicate for a living. 

So when someone asks you, "What is the Art of Voice Over?" 

Say, "It is the beauty of using your voice with passion and imagination to move people to take action in a world where most of life, we standstill."

It is at the very core of all human civilization ... communication!
